From the 1st of July 2026 the EU removes the de minimis exemption for low value goods. By 1st of November 2026 this will be required for shipments with goods coming from outside the EU (like US, UK, China) into the EU.
This means shipments to consumers with a value not exceeding €150 will be subject to a €3 duty per line item on the customs declaration. Furthermore, B2C sellers are required to provide Product Identifiers (PIDs) that include:
-
Merchant Product Identifier (Required) > M-PID
Unique code to identify the goods, this is usually the SKU, item code or product code.
Example value used in this document: "Article Id"
-
Non-standardised Manufacturer Product Identifier (Required) > NS-PID
A manufacturer or product suppliers unique code.
Example value used in the document: "Manufacturer Product Id"
-
Standardised Manufacturer Product Identifier (Optional) > S-PID
Code provided by a governing body to manufacturer or producers where the unique products meets the industry standards. Often a barcode (ISBN, EAN or GTIN).
Example value used in this document: "Article Ean Code"
We have added support for these custom fields in nShift Transsmart via the Webservice, API and MyTranssmart dashboard. It's important to make the changes in your integration either direct or via your WMS/ERP-partner. Please reach out to your responsible colleague or partner to make the necessary changes and share this document with them.
Adding PID information via the Webservice
If you are using the Webservice for sending in shipments, you can add the PID information to the delivery note lines on the Attributes array in the doBooking request call:
[WSDL: connect.transsmart.com/TboxService/2_0?wsdl]
<tbox:attributes>
<tbox:attribute>
<tbox:name>M-PID</tbox:name>
<tbox:value>Article Id</tbox:value>
</tbox:attribute>
<tbox:attribute>
<tbox:name>NS-PID</tbox:name>
<tbox:value>Manufacturer Product Id</tbox:value>
</tbox:attribute>
<tbox:attribute>
<tbox:name>S-PID</tbox:name>
<tbox:value>Article Ean Code</tbox:value>
</tbox:attribute>
</tbox:attributes>
Adding PID information via the API
If you are using the API for sending in shipments, you can add the PID information to the delivery note lines on the attributes array:
[API docs: nShift Transsmart Developer Documentation]
Example:
"attributes": [
{
"name": "M-PID",
"value": "Article Id"
},
{
"name": "NS-PID",
"value": "Manufacturer Product Id"
},
{
"name": "S-PID",
"value": "Article Ean Code"
}
]
Adding PID information via MyTranssmart
If you are using the MyTranssmart dashboard for creating shipments, you can add the PID information to the delivery note lines on the attributes section:
In all scenarios it's important to use the exact name for the fields, so M-PID, NS-PID and S-PID.
Note: although the fields articleId and articleEanCode already exist in the delivery note lines, we have decided to add them again as M-PID and S-PID in the Attributes section in order to support this specific customs flow, also in the Proforma/Commercial Invoice and carrier booking flow for these 3 fields together.

According to my information, this regulation only applies to goods incoming from outside the EU (like US, UK, China) into the EU. So NOT to shipments originating from the EU and shipped outside the EU.

If this is the case, can this be stated more clearly in this release note?
Thank you Wilfred for your valuable addition. It has been added to the document.
